Sheung Lee received his professional musical training at the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded a ‘Commendod’ honour in the Christian Carpenter Prize in Piano Accompaniment which was greatly indebted to his teacher Julius Drake – one of the most celebrated pianists specializing in the field of chamber music. Sheung’s performances were described as ‘engaging and arresting, effective and enjoyable.’
His passionate interest in songs had led to diverse song performances with his peers in most of the major British conservatoires including Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Throughout his studies, he participated in song accompaniment classes regularly with Philip Doghan, Audrey Hyland, Emanuela Ferrari-Osborne, Ian Partridge, Richard Stokes and Nichole Tibbels, to name but a few. He had participated in piano accompaniment masterclasses conducted by Helmut Deutsch, Roger Vignoles, Michael Dussek, Geoffrey Pratley and Jan Philip Schulze. He had also studied with prominent British pianists including Charles Owen and Andrew West.
He was awarded a Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music and served as the Director of programme Development of the Royal Academy of Music Hong Kong Alumni Association. He is recently appointed as Managing Director of the Vantage Music Limited; supporting local and overseas development of the Young Musicians Series.
